About Pepper

Pepper has been back with us at Southern Pines Family Danes for nearly a year while we've taken the time to evaluate her personality and determine the type of home where she'll be happiest. During that time, she also spent time in a foster home, but the arrangement ended when the foster family's circumstances changed and they began traveling frequently. Pepper has now been back with us for several months and has settled into a comfortable routine.

She is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves the people she knows and trusts. Once she forms a bond, she enjoys being close to her people and is a wonderful companion.

Pepper's Ideal Home

Based on our experience with Pepper, we believe she will thrive in:

  • An adult-only home with no children.

  • A calm, structured environment.

  • A home with no more than one other dog.

Pepper has not been evaluated around cats while in our care, so we are not recommending a home with cats.

Living With Other Dogs

Pepper currently shares her space with another adoptable Great Dane named Cash, and they have done exceptionally well together. They have lived peacefully as roommates for several months without any issues and genuinely enjoy each other's company.

While Pepper does not need to be adopted with Cash, they would make an excellent pair for the right family looking to adopt two wonderful companions.

Who Should Consider Pepper?

Pepper would do best with someone who appreciates the loyal nature of Great Danes and understands that some dogs simply prefer a quieter lifestyle. She isn't looking for a busy household. Instead, she's looking for someone who will give her consistency, patience, and the security of a predictable home.

In return, you'll gain a loving, devoted companion who enjoys spending time with her people and has so much affection to give.

If you think Pepper may be the right fit for your family, we'd love to talk with you and answer any questions. Our goal is to find the home where Pepper can enjoy the happy, peaceful life she deserves.
