❓ Frequently Asked Questions: Great Danoodles

  • Great Danoodles are considered a large breed, typically weighing between 70–130 pounds when full grown. Their height can range from 26–33 inches at the shoulder, depending on whether they take more after their Dane or Poodle parent.

  • Danoodles are known for being gentle, loyal, and affectionate. They’re social and love being around their people, often forming strong bonds with their families. They're typically calm indoors and playful outdoors, making them a great fit for family life.

  • Most Danoodles have low to minimal shedding thanks to their Poodle lineage. Their coats range from wavy to curly, and while not completely hypoallergenic, they tend to be more allergy-friendly than a full-blooded Great Dane.

  • Grooming needs vary by coat type. Wavy coats may need weekly brushing, while curlier coats should be brushed more often and trimmed every 6–8 weeks. We recommend regular nail trims, ear cleaning, and the occasional bath.

  • Yes! Danoodles are typically very smart and eager to please, thanks to their Poodle side. Consistent, positive reinforcement training works best. Early socialization is key, and we provide a strong foundation before they go home.

  • Absolutely. They are known to be gentle, tolerant, and protective, making them excellent family dogs. As with all breeds, early socialization and supervision are important β€” especially due to their size as they grow.

  • Great Danoodles enjoy daily walks and playtime, but they aren’t overly hyper. A fenced yard and time with family are usually enough to meet their needs. They love to be included in whatever their people are doing!

  • Our Danoodles are F1 (50% Great Dane, 50% Standard Poodle), giving them a great balance of both breeds. This helps maintain the Dane’s mellow personality with the Poodle’s intelligence and coat benefits.
